Rod was previously a politician, serving as both Deputy of St Helier 2 and the island’s Education Minister. He has held roles as a director of Hepburns Life and Pensions, Chair of Governors Haute Vallee, Chairman of Personal Finance Society Jersey and prior to that, a teacher. He was on the Prince’s Trust panel and is also on the panel for the Jersey Community Foundation.

Rod teaches Creative Thinking, Design Thinking and photography. Currently he’s the in-house photographer for the National Trust Jersey. Last year he had two successful photographic exhibitions. The first, “Seventy”, a personal retrospective and the other “Shared Light” a unique project working with female prisoners of La Moye Prison giving their personal perspective of prison life.
