Rod McLoughlin
Rod is a freelance writer, having recently completed a second spell with the Jersey Evening Post as a senior journalist, specialising in culture and longer interviews. He had previously been Chief Officer in the Bailiff’s Chambers, the government’s Cultural Development Officer, and Director of the Jersey Arts Centre. During his first spell with the JEP, where he began his career, he became the paper’s Deputy News Editor.
Educated in Jersey at Victoria College and a graduate in English from the University of Edinburgh, Rod is particularly interested in literature, theatre, classical music, history and the visual arts. He is involved locally with a number of organisations that support the cultural life of the Island, and enjoys reading, playing the classical guitar and experimenting in the kitchen. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
